Milford Astor is Australia's centre of know how for the pad printing process. We have been installing equipment and training operators since 1976 and have a large range of models that can be configured to suit almost any application, from small single colour bench mount machines to large multi-colour, auto feed free standing lines. Many of Australia's major brand names have our equipment.

Milford Astor also carries and extensive range of pad printing supplies, such as inks, plates, solvents and pads. We have state of the art equipment for etching steel plates of the highest quality ever seen in the Southern Hemisphere as well as specialised ink mixing / colour matching services and test printing procedures to ascertain the best process for any particular product.

Pad printing opens up new possibilities which were not available with traditional printing processes, or which could be exploited only with great effort. Pad printing uses a plate of etched steel or washed out photopolymer in which the image is recessed into the plate surface. During printing operation, the plate is covered with ink; the excess is removed from the surface leaving the ink for the print in the plate depressions. A soft, elastic pad then transfers the ink from the depressions onto the substrate.

The areas of application for pad printing are so extensive that dozens of pad printed articles are encountered every day in the form of commercial items such as glasses, golf balls, pens, toys, medical / healthcare, sporting goods as well as housings, switches, keys, knobs and buttons in the automotive, electronics and telecommunications industries.
